Whew!

When I logged onto my account tonight it said I wasn't following any blogs. My heart skipped since I have just added a bunch and am enjoying them. Had everyone decided to unsubscribe me? And could they even do that? It must have been some sort of a glitch because in a few moments they all popped back up. It was strange how abandoned I felt in that short period. The crickets started chirping. However, that was not the point of my short blog this evening.

The point is the deadline date for the contest has been extended because my writer's group did not meet tonight. At this point, I'm pretty sure our next meeting date will be in November so I am extending the deadline to Halloween. If you want a chance to win a great book for free, spend a few moments and send your entry on in. Make me proud, writer peeps. Reminder-maximum length 500 words, use the words Jackson and Central, in any context. They don't have to be together.

  1. Nancy, since you've extended the deadline and I've just finished my first draft I have no excuse not to ask. Is this international or USA?

  2. Congrats on finishing your first draft. Are you going to put it in a drawer or start working on revisions immediately? In terms of the contest, that is an excellent question that I had not even considered (how small minded of me). I am sending the book from Amazon so as long as someone can get a shipment from Amazon then yes, it is open to them.

  3. In that case, it would be rude of me not to give it a go :-)

I'm doing some basic stuff on the wip, but then I'll leave it a while i think.

  4. My dashboard does that sometimes. Just a glitch.

  5. I have all sorts of issues today with Blogger... I have problems with Blogger almost every day. I'm always nervous it'll act like I never existed.

I'm glad the writer's group didn't meet last night, because I didn't know a thing about it. I might have thought I was being shunned.

  6. Sarah, I agree totally and you wouldn't want to be rude :). Alex, thanks, good to know it isn't just me. I immediately began wondering if I had somehow offended the universe. Rusty, you knew as much as I did, somewhere in my brain I thought Lou had said Tuesday at our last meeting but then no other communiques occured. You would never be shunned (Although I would probably think the very same thing if I read that on your blog.)

  7. Now and then Blogger does that but thank goodness it's not real. The first time it happened I almost had a heart attack though!

  8. Interesting idea. Perhaps I'll join the next competition. Good luck to the participants!

  9. I think blogger has a sick sense of humor. Glad they reappeared quickly! I've had followers disappear--THAT'S SCARY!

  10. Thanks for coming by ladies. I appreciate the empathy. That would be scary to have followers disappear. I would be scanning my lost post to see if it was offensive.
